EPJE de Gennes Lecture Prize

The Liquid Matter conference is delighted to host the 2017 edition of the EPJE Pierre Gilles de Gennes Lecture Prize. The prize is sponsored by the Italian Physical Society (SIF), EDP Sciences and Springer as co-publishers of European Physical Journal (EPJ) and is awarded to outstanding scientists for their contribution to soft matter research. Previous recipients of this prize were Samuel A. Safran, Michael E. Cates, Julia M. Yeomans, Ludwik Leibler, and Regine von Klitzing.

The 2017 EPJE Pierre Gilles de Gennes Lecture Prize will be awarded to Ramin Golestanian for his outstanding theoretical contributions to the physics of microswimmers and their hydrodynamic interactions which have led to a series of exciting new discoveries and stimulated the development of the field of active matter. Professor Golestanian will deliver the EPJE Pierre-Gilles de Gennes lecture at the conference on Thursday July 20 2017.
