10th Liquid Matter Conference

Information for Presenting Authors

Oral Presentations

There are three types of oral presentations:

  • Plenary Lectures
  • Keynote Lectures
  • Contributed Talks

For the schedule of oral presentations, see Conference Program.

The duration of plenary lectures is 45 minutes (= 40 minute presentation + 5 minute discussion), the duration of keynote lectures is 30 minutes (= 25 minute presentation + 5 minute discussion), and the duration of contributed talks is 20 minutes (= 17 minute presentation + 3 minute discussion).

Speakers can use their own laptops, but are strongly advised to test their presentations at least two hours before their allocated slot during one of the breaks so as to ensure that their presentation is fully functional. During the break before their session, the speakers are asked to connect their laptops to the projector and check the quality of the image.

Technical support for speakers will be available at the Speakers Desk located at the Registration Desk.

If your talk has been scheduled for the morning session, you are requested to attend to the technical details one day before your presentation.

Please note: If your presentation is scheduled for Monday July 17 morning, you are kindly requested to test it on Sunday July 16, between 17.00 and 19.00. All tests will be performed in the session room where your talk will be delivered.

Please prepare your presentation in format 16:9, this will ensure the best picture quality. All the conference projectors operate best in the 16:9 aspect ratio, and switching to another aspect ratio might reduce the image quality and size.

AC power plugs and sockets are of the Schuko type, so please bring plug-in adapters with you if you need one. Should your computer have micro HDMI or another dedicated micro-connector for video output, please bring the standard adapter with you.

Users of Mac laptops and other laptops that do not have VGA or HDMI connections are requested to bring an original adapter for the VGA or HDMI connection in the session room.

A backup Windows laptop will be available for speakers.

Poster Presentations

Posters will be displayed in the Grand Reception Hall and in Foyer I. Display boards will be numbered. The presenting authors are requested to be present at their posters during the scheduled time for discussion. Each poster will be exhibited for two days only. All posters should be put on display between 8.00 and 9.00 on the day of the presentation and must be removed after 19.00. Cankarjev dom is not responsible for any poster left behind at the end of the day.

The size of poster boards is 140 cm (height) × 95 cm (width), suitable for A0 posters in portrait orientation. Scotch tape will be provided to attach posters to the boards. To locate the posters more easily, see the schematic map of the poster panels.
